Red Sea Recovery is a Salvation Based recovery program. While we can help anyone who is willing to make the three essential trades of recovery, and address wants and needs in their life in the areas of pain and pleasure, we know that it is only when you insert salvation in Jesus Christ into your recovery that you can become wholly and completely transformed.
So, it's important to understand what salvation is all about. I have listed out the steps of salvation below, but first, I would ask you to please listen to this audio that I created discussing salvation: Why it's important and what it really means. How Can I Know That I Am Saved? All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
No matter how insignificant you may feel your failings are, any sin is enough to eternally separate you from God.
Just as some feel their sin is not "bad enough", others feel that their sin is "too much". Both are lies from the Devil. No matter where you are at in your sin, the death of Christ on the cross can atone for your sin. You must trust that God's love is enough.
The result of your sin is physical and spiritual death. There is nothing in your own power that you can do to change this. The only solution is to choose life over death. This is done by recognizing that a gift of God is being offered to you that you don't deserve, but can surely have.
Salvation through Christ is an act of faith. You can only get to Him on His terms: Believe what Jesus did and confess that belief with your mouth. It's an initial confession with your words, and a daily confession with your life.
Once you have accepted what Jesus did for you, God declares you to be righteous. You are pure in His sight!
Believing on Jesus and trusting only on Him for salvation causes our debt of sin to be wiped clean. Once that happens, we possess the gift of eternal life. We have "passed from death into life"!
You are now not who you used to be. You are a new creation in Christ. Even while you were in sin, God had prepared good works for you to walk in. You can now access your spiritual land and walk out those good works with power and purpose in Christ Jesus. If you have been saved and the Holy Spirit now lives in your heart you CAN NOT be the same. Yes, you still make mistakes and all addictions don't just instantly die, but you will NOT BE OK with them staying. In fact, you will HATE the sin you used to love, even if some part of you still desires it.
You are planting the seed of salvation in your heart. Play close attention to the "soil" of your heart. Don't let it become hardened or weed-infested before this seed can become rooted in your faith in Christ and spring forth out of the "ground" bearing the fruit of the spiritual seed of salvation that was planted. God saves you while you are still in sin, but he doesn't expect you to stay there. In the same way, your good works can never lead you TO salvation, but good works in Christ through the Holy Spirit AFTER salvation is expected, and is a sign that you have truly through faith made Jesus the Lord of your life.
